Does God got you?
The other day I was watching the new series Coach Prime on Amazon about Deion Sanders that follows him during the season at Jackson State.
During episode 2, they do a dive on a medical issue that he was having in his leg where they were talking about possible amputation due to the loss of blood flow.
As he is laying in the hospital talking to the doctor, he says “cool whatever you got to do, do…as long as I’m alive, I’m good.”
When the producer asks him are you really good, he says…
”Yeah, I trust God with everything I got. God’s got me…So if I have to lose something, there’s gonna be a tremendous gain. Because there has not been anything under the sun that has been accelerated or marvelous, or extraordinary without there being a sacrifice.”
Read that again.
When you are laying in the hospital for days and weeks on end or you are bedridden for years, you get a deeper understanding of what matters.
You go through all the scenarios and emotions in your head. Trying to justify or understand what’s going on.
But here’s the thing, you won’t.
Because, there is a bigger plan for you than what you think there is.
But it does require sacrifice on your part.
Just a few short years ago when I was bedridden and wasting away, I wished, hoped, and prayed for a working body again. Just anything to have some sort of an active life again.
I was willing to sacrifice whatever I needed to for that chance.
But little did I know, my body was my sacrifice.
A sacrifice that I have to live with every second of the day.
But, for me greatness has come from that.
The battles internally are being won.
I’ve gone from being bedridden 23 hours of the day and using a walker to running 100 miles and about to attempt 200.
I’ve started and grown multiple businesses while at the same time coaching and helping others in theirs.
But honestly none of this would have come without that sacrifice.
See sacrifice can come in many forms…beliefs, time, relationships, money, stability, or even a physical one.
But when you fully sacrifice, fully let go, and FULLY trust the process…that is when the greatness shines.
