Mastering the Game: Are You Ready to Commit to the Process?

How committed to the process are you?

A couple of weeks ago I read the book Atomic Habits by James Clear.

On page 27 of the book, he wrote:

The purpose of setting goals is to win the game. The purpose of building systems is to continue playing the game. True long-term thinking is a goal-less thinking. It’s not about any single accomplishment. It is about the cycle of endless refinement and continuous improvement. Ultimately, it is your commitment to the process that will determine your progress.

So I ask you again, how committed to the process are you?

Are you walking around with a negative attitude?

Are you going throwing shit at the wall hoping something will work and take off?

Are you constantly not showing up at your best when you know you have a lot more left to give?

See the process is something that will and should never be finished.

It is something that you have to refine all the time.

Refining where you were weakest yesterday.

Where you need improvement.

The process is about showing up every single day.

Performing your best.

Your ACTUAL best.

Having the discipline to execute consistently.

Even in the not so fun stuff of the business.

It takes hard work.

Dedication.

Focus.

You have to eliminate the distractions and take a good hard look inside.

And then, only then, will you start to see how powerful the process really is.
